Amanda Salazar, O.D.


Dr. Salazar is a therapeutic optometrist and a certified glaucoma specialist. Originally from Brownsville, Texas, Dr. Salazar received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology with a minor in Spanish from the University of Texas at Austin. After completing her studies in Austin, she attended the University of Houston College of Optometry, where she received her Doctor of Optometry degree.

She completed clinical externships at the South Texas Veterans Health Care Eye Clinic in San Antonio, TX and at the Indian Health Services of Cherokee Nation in Tahlequah, OK. Through her externships she received extensive training in primary care, co-management of cataract surgeries and management of ocular diseases including glaucoma, macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy.

Dr. Salazar enjoys traveling internationally, listening to live music, fitness classes and trying out new plant based recipes.
